AUST, Alden F., Jun 4, 1916 May 16, 2011. Retired Omaha City Planning Director, passed away peacefully at Lakeside Hospital just weeks away from his 95th birthday. Alden was preceded in death by parents, Mabel Armstrong and Franz August Aust; sister, Lucille Aust Woolsey; first wife Anne Olson Aust; second wife, Elizabeth Wofford Aust. Survived by sister, Charlotte Bryson (Douglas) of Santa Barbara, CA; sons: Holden Aust of San Francisco, CA, Hale Aust (Theresa) of New York City, Tom Aust (Laura) of Pelham, NY; stepdaughter, Dorsey Wofford Olson (James) of Omaha; grandchildren: Anne, Taylor, Alden and Haley; step-granddaughters, Gabrielle and Mikaela; 3 step-great-grandchildren. Alden was a veteran of the U.S Navy and a retired member of Downtown Rotary. Memorials are suggested to Lauritzen Gardens (omahabotanicalgardens.org); or to the Franz and Mabel Aust Memorial Fund, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Wisconsin at Madison, WI.
