Preceded in death by brothers, Jamie and Ryan Morey.  Survived by wife, Elizabeth Morey; sons, Holden and Nolan Morey; parents, Frank and Kathy Morey; brother, Adam Morey; grandmother, Connie Herman.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 9^th from 4pm to 6pm.  MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Thursday, June 10^th at 10am at St. Gerald Catholic Church, 9602 Q Street.  Interment: Calvary Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Morey Children Education Fund.

Alexander Thomas Morey, age 33, unexpectedly went home to his Heavenly Father June 5, 2021.  He was born May 6, 1988, in Omaha, Nebraska.  Alex graduated from University of Omaha with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 2013 and completed a Master’s Degree from Nebraska Methodist.  He worked for several years in various medical lab settings and for the past three years worked for e-commerce company Spreetail out of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Alex met the love of his life, Elizabeth, in 2012 and the two were wed nearly two years later on April 5, 2014.  Liz and Alex had two boys, Holden and Nolan, born in 2017 and 2020.  He loved spending time with his boys, especially teaching Holden all things baseball and making up silly songs to make Nolan giggle.  Alex had insurmountable joy and pride in his boys, which was evident just in the way he looked at them.

Prior to college, Alex grew up playing baseball and football on various teams.  He was a Husker football fanatic with a wealth of knowledge relating to current and past Husker sports.  Alex enjoyed golfing, being outside with the boys, and playing games with friends.  He also had a love for grilling and smoking meat, making his own recipes, and drinking a cold one.

Alex is survived by wife, Elizabeth (Schwartz) Morey; sons, Holden and Nolan all of Lincoln, NE; parents, Frank and Kathy of Waterloo, NE; brother, Adam of Lincoln, NE; grandmother, Connie Herman of Omaha, NE; niece, Taylor Morey of Missouri Valley, IA; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Michael and Susan Schwartz of Beatrice, NE; sister-in-law; Mackenzie Smith (Tim); niece and nephew, Ivy and Reid Smith all of Odell, NE; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Preceded in death by brothers, Jamie and Ryan; grandparents, Willard and Eleanor Morey; grandfather, Harold “Joe” Herman; uncle, Jim Johnston.
