Alfred J. Habeeb

Alfred “Al” Habeeb, age 78, passed away in his home on August 30. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 20, 1940 to Abraham and Margaret (George) Habeeb. Al is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jane (Williams) Habeeb; children: Joe Arden (Ann Marie), Kellie Wostrel (Jason), and Jennifer Habeeb; sister, Rosemarie Habeeb; brother, Ron Habeeb; five grandchildren: Skyler, Sophia and Lily Arden, and Simon and Luke Wostrel.

Al served in the U.S. Navy for four years and was an Ohio State Patrol Officer in Medina for twelve years. He later worked for Ryder P.I.E Trucking Company, transferring to Omaha, Nebraska, and also worked at Cox Communications, where he retired. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and uncle, and an incredible friend. He enjoyed playing golf and poker and going out to lunch with his buddies. Al was a member of the Cleveland Browns’ Backers Club and enjoyed watching Cleveland sports with his friends and family. Al loved life and laughter and was often surrounded by both.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, September 15th at 5pm at the West Center Chapel with a reception to follow.  Interment: Omaha National Cemetery,  with military honors by Benson VFW Post 2503.

    Missing you more and more every day dad! I found some messages from you, from before I moved to Omaha. You were looking forward to having our favorite-stuffed peppers :). I’m glad we got to spend the last year together and I would give anything to have more-but I’ll see you again. I love you so much!

    Condolences to all of the Habeebs and Wostrels. Al was a wonderful guy and always a delight to talk to. He will be greatly missed but always remembered.
