Alfred J. Simonsen

June 29, 1922 – May 29, 2018

Alfred Simonsen, son of Alfred James Simonsen, Sr. and Agnes Bergetha Simonsen, was born in Omaha, NE on June 29, 1922.  He was baptized in the name of the Triune God at St. Mark Lutheran Church on September 10, 1922 by Rev. William Ira Guss and was confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church on May 16, 1937.

Alfred graduated from Benson High School in January of 1941 and attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant from September 1942 until September 1946.  He was united in Holy Marriage to Eunice Esther Bangert on October 8, 1950.

Alfred passed from this life to life eternal on May 29, 2018 at the age of 95.  His final earthly resting place will be Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.  He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Eunice.  He is survived by niece, Pat Parker (husband, Tom); cousins, Ann Hatting (Keith), Glenn Simonsen (Barbara), and Roger Simonsen and their families; sister-in-law, Jean Bangert; many nieces and nephews.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Thursday, May 31st at 10am at the West Center Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Pacific Hills Lutheran Church, 1110 S. 90th St., Omaha 68124.
