Alfred W. Beckman
January 9, 1942 – April 14, 2023
Alfred Walter Beckman passed away peacefully Friday, April 14, 2023, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, NE, with family at his side. He was born on January 9, 1942, in Sterling, NE, to Walter and Lydia Beckman. After graduating from Gothenburg High School in 1960, he moved to Omaha and earned a degree in auto mechanics from Universal Trade School. He started his career at Omaha Public Power District in May 1962 and enjoyed his contributions and camaraderie with colleagues until retiring as Transportation Manager in May 2002.
Al married Charlene Brown on February 28, 1965, at Pella Lutheran Church in Omaha. They were married for more than 52 years until Charlene’s death. Al married Judie Eliason in 2018.
Al is survived by his wife, Judie; his children, Marsha Marron (Gary) of Omaha, and Keith Beckman (Kristy) of Dellwood, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Walter Beckman (age 16) and George Beckman (age 14); one sister, Carol Marshall of Evergreen, CO; and nephew, Alexander Mentis (Beth) of West Point, NY. He will be deeply missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Charlene.
Al enjoyed camping, talking with his grandsons, meticulously maintaining his yard and vehicles, playing cards, catching up over coffee, and spending time with friends, family, and neighbors.
SERVICES: Saturday, May 13th, at 11 am at Lutheran Church of the Master, 2617 S. 114 St., Omaha 68144.
Private Interment, Voss Mohr Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Lutheran Church of the Master.

Our dear friend for so many years,,,he will be missed greatly, He had the best sense of humor and enjoyed many years of playing cards with him. Our deepest sympathy to all the family.
Judie, I am so sorry for your loss. As you know Al was my go to guy for my camping needs. He was the best backer upper ever. So enjoyed his friendship and yours. Will miss him!!
