Amelia J. Tritz
October 7, 1936 – August 8, 2024
Amelia Tritz, age 87, entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 8, 2024, in Omaha, NE. She was born on October 7, 1936, in Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amelia and Henry Berghahn; and brothers, Henry and David.
Amelia is survived by her husband, Charles: children, Steve (Susan) Tritz, Mary (Kerry) Kessler, Mike (Lori) Tritz, Cathy (Roger) Manley; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; and brother, Dennis (Eileen) Berghahn; and many nieces and nephews.
She lived most of her life in Omaha. Amelia met Charles Tritz at the age of 14. They were married on May 26, 1956.
Chuck and Amelia were born one day apart in the same hospital. They had been married for 68 years and were devoted to one another.
Amelia and Chuck worked together in the family business, Francis Tritz Plumbing. Amelia ran the office, along with her sister-in-law, Mary Tritz. Her sons and grandsons followed in the Plumbing industry. Mike continues to own and manage Tritz Plumbing until this day, with grandsons, Matt, Jeff and Rick working there as well.
Amelia was a strong, faith-filled Catholic. She raised her family in this faith, and all attended Catholic School, just as she did. They never missed Mass, even when traveling.
They prayed the rosary together each day. What an example she showed of love, faith and family. She was the love of Chuck’s life, and they were an example to many.
They raised a family to enjoy camping, hunting, fishing, while vacationing in MN at Jeannie’s Resort. In 1992, they bought a cabin on Twin Lakes. Once retired, they built a home on Twin Lakes and moved to MN to live. They would return home for the holidays with family, then off to Arizona in their camper for the winter.
They lived life to the fullest and enjoyed their time together.
We were all blessed to know and love her. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She taught us what true love means. She will be in our hearts forever.
Now she is in peace without pain, watching over us. We will all try to follow her example in our lives and our children’s lives.
