Amy Millicent (Madison) Cronin

May 7, 1963 – February 17, 2024

Amy Millicent (Madison) Cronin, beloved daughter, wife, mother, educator, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the age of 60 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Amy was born in Omaha on May 7, 1963 to Gwen and Jerry Madison.  From a young age, Amy had a love for equestrian sports, particularly in riding hunter jumpers. She was a member of Ponca Pony Club and North Hills Hunt and competed in local horse shows.

After graduating from Westside High School in 1981, Amy pursued her education at the University of Nebraska and ultimately graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor of Science in Education.  Following graduation, Amy began her career teaching special education in Westside Schools, where her caring nature and dedication to her students left a lasting impact. In addition to her educational endeavors, Amy ventured into the world of banking, demonstrating versatility and aptitude in various roles. She served as a Corporate Training Coordinator at Richmond Gordman and later as Office Manager at Cushman Wakefield, where she built many friendships.

Family was at the center of Amy’s life, and she cherished her role as a devoted mother to her son, Patrick. Patrick and Amy spent many wonderful hours fishing together.  Her culinary skills were legendary, and her family members eagerly anticipated gatherings where they could savor her delicious meals, particularly her perfected yeast rolls from her Grandmother’s recipe. Amy’s remarkable green thumb was evident to anyone who spent time in her sunroom.

Amy, a dedicated Husker fan, faithfully attended home games with her mother.  Additionally, spending time with her group of close-knit friends was one of her favorite pastimes. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion continues to inspire those whose lives she touched. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the profound impact she had on our lives and find solace in our cherished memories.

Preceded in death by her father, Jerry Madison; sister, Sue (Madison) Waner.  She is survived by her son, Patrick; nephews, Taylor and Ben Olson, mother, Gwen (Sahn) Madison; cousins, Mary (Smith) Coons and Stephen “Deucer” Smith; and many close friends.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Saturday, February 24th from 2:00PM – 4:ooPM at Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler, West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha, Ne.

Friends and family are welcome to gather after the Celebration of Life Gathering at  “The RTG on Center” 8437 W Center Road, Omaha.
