ANDERSON, Jeanette K.

Jeanette K. Anderson February 27, 1945 – May 24, 2015 Jeanette Kay Anderson was born on February 27, 1945 in Oxford, Nebraska to Paul and Frances Wagner. She passed away peacefully on May 24, 2015. Jeanette grew up as a pastor’s daughter, and ministry was a part of her life throughout her childhood. She gave her life to Jesus at the age of twelve and never looked back. She lived mainly in Oshkosh and Broken Bow, Nebraska where her parents pastored, and later attended Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri, where she met Curt. It took a while for him to win her over, but once he did, they were never to be separated. They married on April 8, 1966 in Brush, Colorado, and then settled in Omaha where they raised three children: Kristin, David, and Sheree. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, while at the same time earning her cosmetology license. Jeanette is best known by many special people as Mrs. Anderson, preschool teacher at Trinity Learning Center. She began teaching hesitantly, not sure she would be good at it, but became one of the most beloved teachers in the school and served there for 27 years before she had to step back to focus on her health. She was known for always having a hug ready for each student and for always being able to keep her cool no matter the situation. Life eventually brought grandkids, and she found another role at which she was a natural: being Nonna to Isabelle, Liam, Elena, Luke, Brinn, Jackson, Nolan, and Grady. They brought her much joy, and adored her as much as she did them. Jeanette was well known for her heart to serve others. If she ever caught wind of a need someone had and it was within her power to do something, she was unstoppable. She specialized in meeting people’s practical needs and truly represented the hands and feet of Christ to others. In the often-quoted words of Mother Theresa, she did “small things with great love.” Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Frances Wagner of Lexington, and her sister, Joan Ostrand (Dave) of Omaha. She is survived by her husband, Curt, of Omaha; children: Kristin (Brad) Klaassen, David (Kelly) Anderson, and Sheree (Eric) Gayer, all of Omaha; and eight beloved grandchildren. Throughout her years of battling multiple cancers, she always displayed a great mix of spirited fight and quiet trust in Jesus. She honored Him in everything she said and did, and her greatest wish was for those around her to know Him. Hers was a life well lived, and she was faithful to the end. VISITATION Friday, May 29th from 5pm to 8pm at the West Center Chapel. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Saturday, May 30th at 10:30 am at Emmanuel Fellowship. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to the family for Christian missions projects of their choice.
