Ann Gellatly

Ann Gellatly

February 7, 1955 – March 20, 2019

Ann (Wenstrand) Gellatly was born on February 7, 1955 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Jack Wenstrand and Mary O’Donnell Wenstrand. They moved to Omaha in 1961 where she attended Prairie Lane Elementary School and Westside High School, where she met her future husband, Michael Gellatly.

Ann and Mike married on July 12, 1975 before having their first child, Megan (Gellatly) McCall in 1984. Almost three years later in 1987, they had their second child, Kathryn (Gellatly) Burns.

After their divorce in 1990, Ann and Mike remained supportive of one another in order to raise Megan and Kathryn. Later in life, Ann and Mike became close friends again.

Ann most recently worked as a life insurance underwriter for CRL. She loved her job and her coworkers and had the most wicked sense of humor you could imagine.

Ann passed away due to health complications at Methodist Hospital on March 20, 2019 at 2:24pm. She was surrounded by the love of her family as she left this earth.

Ann is survived by daughters Megan (Eric McCall), Kathryn (Ryan Burns), sister Jane (Tor Nausthaug), ex-husband and friend Michael, grandchildren Madysen Malone, Mallery May, Cade Luceus, and Brylee Belle, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Ann is preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary and Jack Wenstrand.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 2:30pm at the West Center Chapel, with an informal visitation immediately following. Beer, wine, and finger food will be served in honor of Ann.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

    Dear Family of Ann Gellatly,
I am so sorry for your loss. May God’s promise bring you comfort. There will be “a new earth… and He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore… I am making all things new.” Revelation 21:1-5

My deepest sympathy to Ann’s family! I was so surprised so see she had passed away. I used to babysit Ann and her sister when we lived in Prairie Lane. The Wenstrand family were such nice people. I know Ann will be greatly missed! Blessings!!!
