Anna Marie Miller, 92, of Omaha NE, died Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Heritage Sterling Ridge in Omaha NE. She was born November 26, 1931 in Cozad NE to William and Vivian (Ochs) Lemke. She lived in Eustis NE and was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church. While Anna Marie was in high school, the family moved to Cedar Rapids NE where she met Sylvester (Ves) Miller. She graduated from Cedar Rapids High School with the Class of 1949.

After graduation, Anna Marie moved to Omaha to live with Dr. William T. and Dorothy Kemp. She worked in Dr. Kemp’s medical office during the day and helped care for their two children in the evenings.  On May 1, 1950, she was united in marriage to Ves Miller at St. Cecilia Catholic Cathedral in Omaha.  Anna Marie worked for “Doc” Kemp for 25 years.

Anna Marie and Ves had three children: Joseph, Lynne and Susan, raising them primarily in north Omaha. The family moved to Papillion NE in 1971. Anna Marie worked for Dr. Tracy Osborn from 1975 to 2000, when she retired. For both physicians, she worked as an office nurse, lab assistant and receptionist having received on-the-job training from Doc Kemp.

Survived by: Joe (Linda) Miller, Lynne (Mike) Purdy, Sue (John) Rogers all of Omaha NE; grandchildren: Tim (Kristen) Miller of Durham NC, Matt (Ashley) Miller of Hickman NE, Melinda (Josh) Loeffler of Lincoln NE, Bryan (Kayla) Purdy of Des Moines IA, Keith (Jaime) Purdy of Lincoln NE, Sara (Chris) Lee of Omaha NE, Tommy (Cam) Vacek of Omaha NE and Michael (Kristin) Rogers of Colorado Springs, CO; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd (Marie) Lemke of Gretna NE; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Anna Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ves, who died January 14, 2016; sisters, Mary Kay Schmeeckle, Lois Zoucha; and brothers, Louis Lemke and Raymond Lemke.

Wake/Visitation from 5-7 pm with Rosary at 7 pm Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Heafey Hoffman Dworak Cutler Mortuary, 7805 West Center Rd, Omaha. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 16, 2024, 10:30 am at St Leo the Great Catholic Church, 1920 N. 102nd St., Omaha. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, 78th and West Center Rd, Omaha.

Memorials may be given to St Leo Catholic Church or Hillcrest Hospice Foundation, Bellevue NE.

    Anna Marie was a caring friend and helped me take care of my children many times when we lived on North 47th Ave. She will always be a blessed memory in my heart and mind.
