Annie Marie Gudenrath

Annie Marie Gudenrath Obituary

5/25/1949 ~ 4/02/2024

Anne ‘Annie’ Marie Gudenrath passed away on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, at the age of 74 in Omaha, Nebraska surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Annie was born on May 25, 1949, in Omaha to Dr. James H. and Rosemary Maynard.  Annie graduated from Marian High School in 1967 and earned her RN and BSN from Creighton University in 1971.  She married the love of her life, Paul Eugene Gudenrath, on July 10, 1971.  From that union, they raised three beautiful daughters, Amy Ausdemore (the late Ron), Beth (Elizabeth) Gudenrath (Eric Losoya) and Ria (Maria) Gudenrath (Jeremiah Johnson).

Her early nursing career began at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and she transitioned to working alongside her father and grandmother Elizabeth Litton (Bess/Gum Gum) in Dr. Maynard’s private family practice. Her patients loved her, and she enjoyed providing personalized one on one nursing care.

Annie loved her family fiercely. She was always ready with words of support and comfort, putting others before herself. She adored her grandchildren and never let her physical limitations hinder her ability to get on the floor to play, laugh, and be silly. She loved reading storybooks to her grandchildren and taking them on little adventures.  She was always living in the moment and engaging in their everyday lives.

Annie loved her flower garden, taking special pride and care with her beautiful roses. She enjoyed sewing Halloween costumes for her grandchildren, special occasion dresses for her daughters, cross stitching, and crafting. Annie loved sweets, baking desserts, and was known for her lemon bars and apple pie.

She was an avid Husker fan and loved games; whether it be a card game or board games, she was always down to play and enjoyed the competition.

Her generosity, can-do attitude and joyful approach to life were an inspiration to the people who knew and loved her, and to everyone she met along the way.

Annie is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Rosemary Maynard; husband, Paul Gudenrath; granddaughter, Aurea Ray Losoya; and son-in-law, Ron Ausdemore.

Survivors include her children, Amy Ausdemore, Beth Gudenrath, and Ria Gudenrath; grandchildren: Megan Londo (Alex), Dr. Josephine Ausdemore (Dr. Jonah DeVries), Eric Paul Ausdemore, Walter Ausdemore, Adelenne Losoya, Michael Johnson, Pierce Johnson, Ivan Hurst, Arryanna Johnson, Eli Hurst, Abigail Hurst, Adrianne Johnson, Owyn Johnson, Una Johnson; and great-grandchild, Riley Londo.

Siblings include: Mary Maynard, Jimmy Maynard (Laura), Bridget Gudenrath (Ray), Rosie Gazda (Mike), Dr. Colleen Maynard (Dr. Greg Cirotski), Theresa Ramelb (Eric) and John Maynard (Angela); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

VISITATION: Sunday, April 7th, 3 to 5 p.m., followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 5 p.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 4810 Woolworth.

Annie, was one of the kindest, sweetest people I have ever known. It was a blessing to know her & family since Holy Name days and working in her Dad’s office, to Holy Cross school/Church. Our paths were intertwined. May God hold her in the hallow of His hands & comfort all of her loved ones. Well done, Annie! Love & prayers

I am sure Annie is with Paul now and at peace. No more pain just heavenly rest. I enjoyed working with Paul; bowling with Paul, Annie, Ray and Bridget many moons ago. Lots of laughs, good times. My best to you 3 girls and your families. Remember she is always with you. Prayers
