Antoinette “Toni” Flaherty, beloved wife, mother, moma, friend, sister, daughter, and dedicated pediatric nurse, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Remsen, Iowa, Toni was the daughter of John and Lorna Pick. She graduated from St Mary’s High School, moved to Omaha in 1968, and graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing. She married Thomas Flaherty in 1972, and they had three children. Toni loved her family, her Catholic faith, being a pediatric nurse, staying informed of news events, and visiting her mom daily.
Toni is survived by her husband of 52 years, Tom; daughter, Katie and her husband, Mark Murphy; daughter, Erin and her husband, Tim Berwick, son, Dan and his wife, Christine Flaherty; seven grandchildren: Maggie Berwick, Bridget Murphy, Jack Berwick, Mary Kate Murphy, Fiona Flaherty, Will Berwick, and Sean Flaherty. She is also survived by her mother, Lorna Pick; siblings and their spouses: Randy and Connie Pick, Keith and Pam Pick, and Sheila and Jeff Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She adored her friends who have been a wonderful support to her and her family. Toni will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
The Flaherty family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone for their support and condolences during this difficult time.
