Tony, in the short time I knew you and the few times I met you and hung out we always had a good and fun time with our families. You guys gave me and my siblings the honor of being at the wedding. You also opened your home to us and allowed us to stay after, which we’ll be forever grateful. I wish I would have gone to visit one more time before God called another angel home. Just know I’ll always be there for your family as if it were my own, and everyone that had the great opportunity to meet you and spend time with you knows what a great man you were and you are loved by all. Until we meet again brother, Sgt. Guardiola.

When I became a squad leader he was my first and only choice for an alpha team leader. He was an amazing soldier and a better person. The world is truly at a darker place without his presence.

Hey big sarge, thanks for being my mentor and showing me what you knew and holding me to the highest standard. You were the epitome of how a soldier/man should carry himself, on and off duty. You are a great father, husband, and friend, as true as they get. One hell of a dude, definitely one I’d have with me during a firefight. You’re attitude, charisma, and infectious enthusiasm would turn the darkest days into rays of sunshine, your resiliency was unmatched. You’re potential was unlimited and was constantly reaching new heights. I loved you like my own brother. Rest easy brother, we’ll see each other again in Valhalla.

I send my deepest and most sincere condolences to the Guardiola family. Tony was one of the best leaders I could say I’ve ever had during my service. Though this is a truly sad moment, please remember the countless lives he’s saved by being such an amazing leader for the mass. My mind lies in despair but my heart hurts more for you all.
    Sincerely, The Mills Family

I loved having dinner with your family countless veces, even one time staying up all night on a Christmas eve to help your dad wrap yal presents. By then you were pretty grown (way taller than me lol) think just finishing up high school. This last time I saw you you were a man serving our country, no longer that little kid I first saw in that picture on your dad’s wall almost 20 years ago. I loved how you always included us in your family, made us feel at home and became our unofficial nephew. I never seen you give your ol man problemas, always a good kid, high spirited, loving, pleasant and funny. I was deeply saddened by your familia’s, and everyone that knew you’s loss. May you rest in peace. Ton Ton. You will always be with us, never forgotten, forever missed with love.
    Uncle George, Angelito.

Still cannot believe this is real, my brother.. You Taught me so much about the Army and being a great leader. You were someone I considered a friend for life. One of the most charismatic, and fearless men I had the honor of knowing. We layed many, many, soldiers to rest my brother and now you can Rest In Peace now. DCo 1St Platoon Escort March!!

Sergeant Guardiola was one of the fairest, most professional, and knowledgeable NCOs I ever had the pleasure of working with during my time in the Army. He led by example. He had integrity. He embodied each Army Value the way you would hope an NCO would. Although his death saddens me beyond belief, I can’t help but acknowledge the fact that I am a better man, and certainly was a better soldier, for having known him. Rest in peace. Delta Company forever. One Legion. Old Guard.
