January 22, 1935 – January 17, 2023

Arden C. Llewellyn Jr., age 87, unexpectedly, yet peacefully, died at home Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Arden was preceded in death by his father, Arden C. Llewellyn Sr., and his mother, Margaret. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Kopko of Harveys Lake PA. Arden was also preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie; In a true expression of God’s love and grace, their children: Denys (Joseph) Koziar, Shawn (Sophie) Llewellyn, Susan Llewellyn, Deborah (Michael) Rowe, Mark (Deborah) Llewellyn, Lisa (Gregory) Malone, Arden (Sara) Llewellyn, III, and James (Amy) Llewellyn; 27 grandchildren: Thomas, Genevieve, Jessica, Dominic, Joshua, Anthony, Paul, Michael, James, Aaron, Patrick, Grace, John Paul, Rachel, Jacob, Charlotte, Samuel, Alexander, Hannah, Zachary, Jesse, Leo, Angelina, Cristian, Ashley, Nathan, and Colin; 5 great grandchildren, Michael Jr., Arianna, Annabelle Rosalie, Maximus, Charlie, and 2 on the way, Oliver and Aiden!

Arden was born in Forty Fort, PA on January 22, 1935. He was a football player, halfback, awarded with the title Mr. Touchdown, graduating from Forty Fort High School in June 1952. After high school, Arden went to the United States Naval Academy and upon graduating with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, married his high school sweetheart, his beloved, Rosalie, on June 15, 1957, was commissioned in the United States Air Force as a meteorologist, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, ultimately retiring in 1990 at the age of 55. In retirement, he went to the University of Nebraska Omaha and became a certified Math teacher and spent several years passing along his wisdom to his students as a substitute Math teacher.

Arden loved and was devoted to country and family, but first his unwavering devotion to God and His Son through a lifelong commitment to the Catholic faith. He loved football and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He was a quiet and humble man who loved reading, often more than one book at a time, and writing his family letters. Arden was able to enjoy many years of his retirement with Rosalie, the love of his life, watching her lead the church choir, and helping her through her medical problems until her passing. He spent his remaining years surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and practicing his devotions to the Litany of Saints and the Rosary. JESUS, I TRUST IN YOU.

VISITATION begins Thursday, January 26th at 6pm, with VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm at the West Center Chapel. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Friday, January 27th at 10:30am at St. Columbkille Catholic Church. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Sancta Familia Medical Apostolate and Siena Francis House.

    I wish all of you the peace of Christ knowing your Dad is at rest in the arms of Jesus and is with your beautiful mom who is surely helping with the Heavenly Choir. My condolences and love go out to each of you
