KOTERBA, Arthur G. Sep 29, 1921 Jan 10, 2013 91 years old. Arthur was born in Omaha to Czech immigrants. He came from a large family and grew up in the Brown-Park neighborhood. Arthur was a Big-Band musician who performed locally around the country as a vocalist and drummer. He was married to the love of his life, Helen, for 52 years. He was a loving father to five children and an extraordinary teacher to his grandchildren. He is retired from Union Pacific Railroad, and at the time of his passing, was the longest standing member (72 years) of the Omaha Musicians’ Association. He was a graduate of Omaha South High School, 1939. He was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Agnes, and siblings. He is survived by wife, Helen C. Koterba; children: Jeff Koterba, Artie Koterba (Kim), Jennifer Gulley (Bill), Eddie Koterba (Elizabeth), Jeanie George (Anil); grandchildren: Josh Koterba (Jennifer), Michael, Marina Gulley, Zedakiah Koterba, Nathanial George, Ethan Koterba, Lilly Gulley, Eric Koterba, Willow Gulley, Evret Koterba, Elias George and September George; step-grandchildren: Alex, Mary and Andrew George; great-grandchildren: Jonah, Aalyvia and Landon. The family will receive friends Monday, January 14, 5pm to 7pm with VIGIL SERVICE and Time of Sharing at 7pm at the West Center Chapel. SERVICES Tuesday, January 15, 9:30am, West Center Chapel to St. Mary Catholic Church, 3529 Q St. for MASS at 10am. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
