Audrey E. (Gravning) Jenner

October 20, 1934 – April 26, 2022

Our Mother, Audrey E. (Gravning) Jenner, went to be with Jesus on April 26, 2022, at 5:30pm at Cornerstone Memory Care Center at Fountain View in Omaha, Nebraska.  Mom suffered from Alzheimer’s. She had a fall and broke her hip which ultimately led to her death.

Audrey was born on October 20, 1934, in Adams County, ND to Clarence and Wanda Gravning. She grew up on a farm with two brothers, Gerald Adrian “Jerry” Gravning and C.J. (Lynn Harvey) Gravning, one sister, Corinne Gay (Gravning) Fossen, and her beloved Cocker Spaniel, “Gypsy. “

Mom was baptized, confirmed and married in the same church, Richland Lutheran in Adams County, ND.   In 1952 she graduated from Hettinger High School where she was Senior Class President and a National Scholar and where she sang in the choir and competed in the Miss Hettinger Pageant.

After graduating, Mom worked at the Hettinger Co-op as an Accountant. She met our father, Milton R. Jenner, in 1954 through a friend. Their first date was a dance in Lemmon, SD.  Our mother married our father on June 5, 1955.  Mom made the decision to quit working when their first child, daughter Debra Kaye, was born on July 19, 1956. Then on December 31, 1959, a son, Terry Lee, was born.

Mom was involved in P.E.O. Group and several church organizations, and she made the best chocolate chip cookies EVER!  She also loved playing golf and tennis, and was involved in several leagues.  Mom will be remembered as devoted to her Lord and to her church and to her husband and family. She will be greatly missed..

Those that went before Audrey are her parents, Clarence Gravning and Wanda (Carroll) Gravning; her husband, Milton R. Jenner; two brothers, Gerald “Jerry” and C.J. (Lynn) Gravning; four sisters-in-law:  Peggy (Maddox) Gravning, Judy Gravning, Irene (Jenner) Fink and Leona (Jenner) Schmitt; two brothers-in-law, Otto L. Fink and Emanuel (E.G.) Schmitt; two nieces, Addie Schwalbe and Leslie Gravning; and one nephew, Lyle Fink.

Those family members that are still living are her daughter, Debra K. Jenner-Billington (Steve Billington) of Unadilla, NE;, son, Terry Jenner of Tucson, AZ.; one sister, Corinne ( Gravning) Fossen (David) of Windsor, CA ; sister-in-law, Janys Springer (Gravning) Kruse (Rich) of Bloomington, MN; three grandchildren: Ian M. Billington of Wymore, NE, David L. Billington (Emily) of Lincoln, NE, and Krista Johnston (Tim); three great-grandchildren, Taylor (Billington) Hood of Austin, TX, Hunter Johnston of Bellevue, NE, and Nico Freeman of Austin, TX; five nieces and six nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Aunt Audrey was a vivacious and loving woman who always made me feel so loved and beautiful. She was always ready for hugs and a compliment. Her heart was beautiful and she encompassed what the Lord is. I’m a better person for having her as my Aunt. She is with some wonderful people, in our forever home. She will be gravely missed. Until we meet again.

Oh Tanya, such a beautiful tribute. My parents loved you so very much. Just imagine all our loved ones who greeted her at her new Homecoming!

Audrey was always very special to me…I admired her very much…her genuine kindness, love and sincerity towards everyone she knew. She always had time for everyone…I remember her soft laugh that sometimes turned into a soft giggle. Audrey will be missed. God Bless her! I can surely see her as one of Our Lord’s most kind and beautiful Angel s in Heaven. And singing hymns …as I remember her beautiful voice in choir. Her Faith in God and Our Lord Jesus Christ was always shown through her glowing heart.

Aunt Janys you were so special to my mom and she loved her nieces and nephews. Mom was amazed by your artistic gifts. Mom cared for you very much and you have always been a blessing and continue to be.
