Barbara A. Bolduan, 89, of Omaha, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, after a brief illness. Barbara was born in Owatonna, Minnesota on May 2, 1935, to Clarence A. Hanson and Blanche M. (Reineke) Hanson Arms. She graduated from Waseca High School in 1953, and soon after, met her husband, Donald Bolduan, while working at Birds Eye in Minnesota. They lived in Austin, Minnesota before moving to Nebraska, where they lived in Fremont, Norfolk, and Omaha. After long-time employment as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell, Barbara began a career as a family therapist. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 1982 and her Master’s in Social Work from UNO in 1984. She helped countless adolescents and their families during her employment at Youth Emergency Services, Lutheran Family Services, Uta Halee Girls Village, and had a private practice until she retired.

Barbara and Donald both loved to bowl. They also enjoyed spending time at the racetrack betting on the ponies. Barbara was an excellent bridge player, an avid book reader, and loved spending time near water with family and friends. In her later years, she particularly enjoyed watching the Game Show Network.

Barbara is survived by her son Dennis (Mical) Bolduan of Norfolk, NE, Deborah (Kurt) Rewinkel of Wakefield, NE, Shelley Bolduan of Omaha, NE, Stacey (Roy) Watson of Omaha, NE, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and sister Darlene Anderson of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Bolduan, daughter Vicki Bolduan, son-in-law Mark Rogers, sister Naomi Gray,

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27th at Heafey Hoffman Dworak & Cutler in Omaha, NE with family receiving friends at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha. Those wishing to express their sympathy may consider a donation to Youth Emergency Services in Barbara’s memory.
