Called to heaven on January 12, 2022, surrounded by family.  She was born May 23, 1938, in Omaha, Nebraska, one of three girls to Lance and Helen Seward.

She grew up in Omaha and graduated from Mercy High School in 1956.  Shortly after school, she found the first love of her life, Joseph, and they were married in 1957.  They moved to San Jose, California in 1960 where they purchased their first home and began a wonderful life together.  In San Jose, Barbara and Joseph decided to start their family and raise their three children, Lance, Jim, and Jodi.  A few years later, they moved back to Omaha, NE to be surrounded by family. During that time, they enjoyed game nights, barbecues, bowling, and attended the kids’ sporting events. Sadly, Barbara lost Joseph in 1984 after 26 years together.

Barbara later found Fred, the second love of her life. They were married for over thirty years and she gained two step-children.  During that time, they traveled the world, joined a wonderful church, and welcomed eight beautiful grandchildren into their lives.  Barbara and Fred had a love for pets and an even deeper love for poodles. Unexpectedly, Fred passed away in 2015.

She continued to play bridge and attend her monthly Mercy Girls lunches. Barbara especially loved hosting family dinners and game nights were her favorite!  Barbara was so happy when she finally became a great-grandma.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lance and Helen Seward; sister, Judy Marasco; husbands, Joseph Crum and Fred McCoy.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Mary Wilson (Dave); children: Lance Crum (Joan), Jim Crum (Lisa), Jodi Bles (Tony), and John (Jenni); grandchildren: Ryan, Katelynn, Barbara (Brevan), Tony, Matthew (Allison), and Kelsey; great-grandchildren, Hayes and Parker; many nieces, nephews, and other loved ones who mourn her loss.
