Josephine S. Bell Jul 4, 1932 – Feb 9, 2015 Josephine S. Bell, daughter of Alonzo and Myrtle Lorentz Silliman was born on July 4, 1932 in Madison County, Iowa, graduating from Earlham High School. Jo married William Bell on March 20, 1955 and resided in Des Moines, Iowa before moving to Omaha, Nebraska. She was employed with the former Northwestern Bell Telephone Company until her retirement. Jo was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, where she served in many capacities and was known for helping others. She enjoyed attending the Omaha Community Playhouse and the Joslyn Art Museum. She liked spending time at “the farm” enjoying the family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Myrtle Silliman; husband, William J. Bell; brothers, Robert Silliman and Ronald Silliman; brothers-in-law, Gene Newton, Ward Crandall, Robert Gale. She is survived by her sisters: Mae Newton, Lois Rieckhoff (William), Marjorie Gale, and Phyllis Crandall; brother, Charles Roger Silliman (Dianne); two sisters-in-law, Ellen Silliman, Treasa Silliman; many nieces and nephews PRIVATE SERVICES. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church of Omaha.
