Bert L. Scott passed away after a long illness and was surrounded by his family. Born in Red Oak, Iowa, Bert was a hard-working man and worked as many jobs as he needed to support his family. He always encouraged those around him to work hard and was proud to see his children and grandchildren succeed.
Thanks to his good humor, Bert was friends with everyone he met. He loved to tell stories about his many experiences in life and to make ridiculous jokes, but he loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. The impact that Bert had on the lives of those around him was immeasurable – to know Bert was to love him. While Bert will be dearly missed by his friends and family, he will continue to be a part of their lives as they retell his stories, and his grandsons continue his tradition of bringing joy into others’ lives with the good humor they learned from Bert.
Preceded in death by parents, Harold and Eleanor Scott; siblings, John and Donna Lee. Survived by wife, Alona; daughter, Tina Scott-Mordhorst; son-in-law, Ronald Mordhorst; daughter, Tracy Scott; daughter-in-law, Patricia Eldridge; son, Jason Scott; grandson, Jacob Mordhorst; granddaughter-in-law, Emily Mordhorst; grandson, Benjamin Mordhorst, Benjamin’s girlfriend, Kate Hammitt; many nieces, nephews, and friends (including furry ones).
