Beverly J. Janecek

JANECEK-Beverly J., age 73, loved her family, loved her friends, and loved her life. Her unusual laugh was famous among those who knew her, somewhere between a hiccup and a police siren. She was a nurturing mother and grandmother and a deeply caring friend. Beverly was born in south Omaha in 1934, the second daughter of Claude and Margaret LaSeck. She married Dick Janecek, the boy next door, in 1953. They were married until Dick’s death in 2005. Bev was one of the team members who launched the first computer system at Bergan Mercy Hospital, where she worked for over 25 years. She retired to begin her favorite career-helping to raise her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Taylor, and niece, Bobbie Janecek. She is survived by son, Rick Janecek and partner, Don Kinnison; daughter, Nancy Salisbury and husband, Scott and their children, Ryan, Brett and Lauren; son, David Janecek and wife Roberta and their children, Courtney and Alison; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Floyd Taylor, Robert Janecek and Alice Janecek; and her many friends whom she considered as family. She also had a close and loving relationship with her nephews and their families: Jeff Taylor, Jay Taylor, John Taylor, Joel Taylor, Jim Janecek and Tom Janecek. SERVICES Monday, 11am West Center Chapel. Interment, Calvary. Memorials to Alzheimer’s Association. The family will receive friends Sunday, 3:30-5:30pm at West Center Chapel.
