HILSON, Beverly Smith, May 9, 1948 Nov 20, 2011. Omaha, NE. She was born in Gary, Indiana, the eldest child born to William B. and Bertha Smith. She attended St. Monica Catholic elementary and middle school in Gary, Indiana and Andrean Catholic High School in Merrillville, Indiana, class of 1966. She departed this life on Sunday, November 20, 2011 with family at her bedside.She was united in marriage with John T. Hilson on October 25, 1969. To that union, three children were born: Bryan, John and Brandis. She raised her children in Gary, Indiana and later moved to Pennsylvania and Ohio. In 1984, they moved to Omaha, Nebraska and remained until her death. She was a manager with the Omaha Housing Authority for the past 21 years. Her love and legacy will be forever cherished. She was preceded in death by her father, William B. Smith. She is survived by her mother, Bertha Smith of Gary, Indiana and three children: Bryan (Denise) Hilson, John (Erin) Hilson, and Brandis Hilson-White; grandchildren: Brianna, Anthony, Alayshia, Destiny, Mia, Tessa, Ashley, Nigel, Kelci, and Ian; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Kadan, all of Omaha; three sisters: Brenda (Ivory, deceased) Smith of Gary, IN, Vicky (Errol) Hardiman-Brown of Cypress CA, Faye (Howard) Toliver of Lynwood IL; three nieces and three nephews of Indiana, California and Illinois; and best friend Glenn Johnson of Omaha.She leaves behind to mourn her passing a host of other loving family and friends. VISITATION begins Friday, 6pm, with VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm at the West Center Chapel. SERVICES Saturday, 9:30am, West Center Chapel to St. Leo the Great Catholic Church for MASS at 10am. Interment, Calvary Cemetery.
