Bill Bowzer

January 27, 1931 – May 9, 2019

Bill Bowzer, age 88 of Omaha, passed away peacefully at home on May 9, 2019.  Bill was born in Taylor, Nebraska to Leo and Florence Bowzer on January 27, 1931.  After High School Bill joined the Navy and was a proud member of the Seabees.

During his life he was a ranch-hand, heavy equipment operator and mechanic, Sales and Service Manager, Union Pacific Railroad asset manager, and a sales representative for Omaha Track where he finally retired in December of 2018.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia “Gin”; his sister, Loraine; and brother, Mert.  He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Sandy Bowzer; grandchildren, Thea and Derick Bowzer; many loved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 12th from 4pm to 6pm at the West Center Chapel.  SERVICES: Monday, May 13th at 1pm at FaithWestwood United Methodist Church, 4814 Oaks Lane in Millard.  Interment: Evergreen Memorial Park with military honors by Millard American Legion Post 374 & VFW Post 8334.

    I first met Bill in 1960. We worked together for the next Ten years. i was in sales and Bill was the service manger. He saved my bacon many times. You couldn’t help but like Bill. He had that “way” about him that people instantly liked him.. He will be missed.
