Brad E. Johnson

November 12, 1973 – August 2, 2020

 

Age 46.  Brad was born in Omaha, NE to Virgil and Ruth Johnson.  He was the third of their four children.  He grew up in Omaha and graduated from Westside High School ‘92.  At the age of 18, he moved to Georgia, where he later attended Univ. of GA, Athens and fell in love with UGA football.  He spent much of his life caring for others, many children and adults with disabilities found a loving caregiver and friend in Brad.  Brad was also a devoted and caring owner to many rescued animals.  Brad passed away in Omaha, surrounded by family, after a brief diagnosis of terminal cancer.

He is survived by his parents, Virgil and Ruth Johnson; siblings: Matt (Carolyn) Johnson, Michelle (Scott) Warner, and Jill (Todd) Moeller; nieces and nephews: Sydney, Cade, Bei, Quinn, Owen, Hattie and Anna; and cherished friend, Nid.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, as well as many aunts and uncles.

To honor Brad’s life, memorials may be directed to Meyer Foundation for Disabilities, 985450 Nebraska Medical Center Omaha, NE 68198-5450 or Scattered Joy Acres, 4966 Newport Avenue Omaha, NE 68152.  Private Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

    I am so saddened to hear of this tremendous loss. What a sweet, benevolent soul he was. Your family is on my heart during this difficult time. Please reach out to me Michelle, when/if the time is right. I’m so very sorry.
