Our beloved Brandi Ann (Bell) Hawkins died unexpectedly on Friday, December 3rd at the age of 48. She will be remembered for her laughter, smiles and kindness.
Brandi was born in Berwyn, Illinois, and raised in Topeka, Kansas.  She married Lee Hawkins in 1998.

They moved to Colorado for a few years and then moved to Nebraska in 2007.  They later divorced. She was dedicated to her work and served as a Long-Term Disability Specialist at Lincoln Financial Group, where she worked the past 13 years.  Brandi loved spending time with her children, Shane Hawkins and Hailey Hawkins, and relaxing with friends.

Her laughter could light up a room.  Brandi was known for her infectious giggle.  She was caring, patient, supportive and always saw the good in others.  Brandi would take in others like they’d been friends for years.  She loved animals all her life and watching sunsets.  Brandi loved to read and as a kid, couldn’t get pulled away from her books. She loved music and attending concerts, especially with her son.

Brandi was preceded in death by grandmother, Opal Slocum; grandparents, Marvin and Lena Bell, who had a special place in their hearts for her.

She is survived by her son, Shane Hawkins; daughter, Hailey Hawkins (Chris Shepard); parents, Jim and Joyce Bell, and Kathy Knight; maternal grandfather, Virgel Slocum; sister, Shannon Hoepner (Mike); brother, Troy Bell (Mikki); stepsister, Connie Persampieri (Pat); stepbrother Allen Bumbar (Aleta); nephews: Steven Hoepner, Tyler Bell (Tisha) and Triston Bumbar; nieces: Kishno Bell, Kenzie Ogden and Ashley Bumbar; grandnephews, Drayden and Keeden Bell; many cousins and friends.
She will be missed by her family and friends.

Family will receive friends at West Center Chapel on Wednesday, December 8th from 5:00 to 7:00pm.  She will be cremated with a burial at a later date in Hoyt, Kansas.
