Brian K. Speer

December 5, 1969 – March 19, 2018

Loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many.  Brian passed away suddenly on a ski-vacation with his family in Breckenridge, Colorado. Brian was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Harlan and Carol Johnston Speer, and grew up in Grand Island, Nebraska. Through his school years he played many sports and excelled at golf. He graduated from Northwest High School in 1988.

His business career started with Best Buy, after which he worked in the Banking and Mortgage Business.  In 2015, he bought Eileen’s Colossal Cookies in Papillion, Nebraska.

In 2005, Brian married Allison M. Holt. He is the loving father of Anaka Speer, Bailey Bartunek, and Hudson Speer. Brian loved being with his family and friends. He enjoyed Nebraska and Denver Bronco Football, snow skiing, golf, and riding the dunes in Oklahoma on his Razor. He loved life, he will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carole Johnston Speer; grandmother, Vera Johnston; father-in-law, Donald Holt. He is survived by his wife, Allison Speer; three children: Anaka Speer, Bailey Bartunek and Hudson Speer; father, Harlan Speer; sister, Tiffany Speer; nephew, Colby Speer; grandfather, Bill Johnston; uncle and aunt, Rich and Deb Loewenstein and Family; mother-in-law, Pat Holt; brothers-in-law, Andrew (Katie) and Matthew (Kate); numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family will receive friends Sunday, March 25th, 3pm to 5pm at the West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Rd., Omaha.  FUNERAL: Monday, March 26th, 1pm at the West Center Chapel.  Private Interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for the education of Brian’s children.

    This is such a difficult time for all of you and please know you and Brian are in our prayers. I feel blessed that Brian touched my life. He is one in a million and would do anything for anyone. He has a permanent place in my heart.

    Dearest Allison, I did not know your dearest Brian, but my heart breaks for you and your family, I would be deeply greatfull if you would let Brian’s father Harlan know I send my deepest sympathy at this terrible sad time, I can’t even begin to know the pain he and you are all feeling.
