Margaret Irene Brick Nov 20, 1926 – Feb 12, 2015 Margaret was born in rural Iowa near Des Moines. After graduating from Norwalk High School in 1944, she worked at Bankers Life Insurance Company in Des Moines. She married Leo J. Brick on June 4, 1949. Leo and Margaret lived in the community of Cumming, Iowa until, in September of 1966, a promotion for Leo brought them to Omaha, Nebraska. Margaret worked at the Holy Ghost school cafeteria, doing accounting and assisting with the lunch program. After leaving the school lunch program, she worked at the Al-Alon office until her retirement in September of 1996. Margaret was well known for her sewing skills, which she performed for family and friends, crafting wedding and bridesmaid dresses for many. She loved to play Bingo at Holy Ghost in particular, and she was active in the Holy Ghost Women’s Club. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Leo J Brick; her parents, Henry and Elizabeth Powers; and her siblings: Mary King-Harkin (Johnny King), James Powers, and Rosella Webb (Jim); in-laws: Alice Powers, John and Rose Brick, John Frances Brick (Helen), Mary Harkin (Cyril), Henry Brick, Ellen Spencer (Jack), and Charles Brick. Margaret is survived by her five children: Jane Landon, Shirley Brick, Thomas Brick, Daniel Brick (Bruce Lovejoy), and John Brick (Kathy); her grandchildren: Thomas Brick II (Candy), Molly Brick, Amanda Landon, and David Landon; her great-grandchildren: Jade, Leo, Terilyn, Ivy and Zoe Brick; brother, Robert Powers; sister-in-law, Janice Brick; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 15th from 5pm to 7pm, with VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm, all at the West Center Chapel. SERVICES Monday, February 16th, 9am, West Center Chapel to Holy Ghost Catholic Church for MASS at 9:30am. Interment, Hillcrest Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to Holy Ghost Catholic Church or St. Joseph Villa Hospice.
