Bruce was born in Eldora, Iowa on April 14, 1948 to Orville and Marjorie (Bolar) Wilts. He graduated from Steamboat Rock High School in 1966. Bruce graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Iowa. On July 5, 1980 Bruce was united in marriage to Nancy (Peters) Miller at The Botanical Gardens in Des Moines, Iowa.

Bruce and Nancy raised Paul and Traci from a young age through high school and college. Bruce was a dedicated family man and loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. He was their favorite companion watching movies, going to sporting events, the zoo, camping and fishing. Bruce enjoyed helping others and was a great example to all. Bruce loved his brothers, they were always close. Talking to Keith and Guy was a highlight of each day.

Bruce was an avid Hawkeye fan and could be seen around town in his Hawkeye hat and sweatshirt much to the disgust of Husker fans. He enjoyed anything space related, loved his coffee and Cuban cigars. What he valued most were his tools. He could fix anything.

Bruce’s professional career involved: materials management, inventory control, space allocation and maximization of product lines and steel purchasing. He utilized these skillsets working in manufacturing plants for Lozier and lnterSystems. After he retired, he did some consulting.

    Dear Nancy and family,
We were so sorry to hear that Bruce had passed away. We always enjoyed spending time with you and your family. The small group from church was so much a positive in all our lives as we were raising our families. Bruce was always so helpful and the time he spent helping make the pipe organ work was wonderful. We will always remember Bruce fondly. May god comfort you all and may the memories you hold of Bruce, comfort you as you grieve. Sincerely, Gene & Becky

This is late. I was out of town and no internet service. My heart goes out to Nancy, her and Bruce did such a great job with Michaelanne. Nancy has had a couple of hard years. I would like to let her know I am here for her, if she needs me. Take care of yourself Nancy. Sending prayers, will add you to our prayer group.
