Captain Charles Hovde Lee, USAF (Retired)

 Captain Charles Hovde Lee, USAF (Retired), age 76 of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on August 25, 2024.

Charles was born March 8, 1948, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Captain Norman Ingvar Lee, Jr. USN (Retired) and Mary (née Atkinson).

After graduating from College, Charles used his degree to serve honorably in the United States of America Air Force as a Commissioned Officer until he retired from Offutt Air Force Base in 1993.  Charles was awarded The Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with one Silver Oak Leaf Cluster and one Oak Leaf Cluster during his career.

Remaining to cherish Charles’s memory are his sons, Robert Lee and Chris Logan; grandchildren: Bailey, Hunter, Zachary, and Heath; many extended family members including his older brother, Colonel Norman Ingvar Lee III, USAF (Retired) of Tucson, AZ; twin brother, Sigurd Edward Lee of Marietta, GA.

Preceding Charles in death are his beloved wife, Diane; parents; brother, Thomas Atkinson Lee.

Visitation will be held on September 3, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Heafey, Hoffman, Dworak & Cutler at 7805 W. Center Road, Omaha, Nebraska.

Private Interment will follow.  Military Honors will be conducted by the Color Guard from Offutt Air Force Base.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I didn’t know Charles but know his son Chris. He certainly was a handsome man with an impressive life from just the little bit I read about his life. May he rest in peace and his family celebrate his life.
