So sorry for your loss Vicki. Its a terrible blow to loose your life partner with whom you share years of memories and plans for the future. I hope your friends and family bring you comfort. You are all in my prayers.
Vickie & family – Sorry for your loss. I first met Carl more than 45 years ago at the original Peony Park. Over the years we met on visits to Louisiana, California, Texas, Nevada and Missouri. Always enjoyed antiquing with the Jennings family. Good memories.
RIP Carl, great memories from Peony Park circa 1970.
Whitey.
A great loss to Omaha. He was totally dedicated to keeping the nostalgic memories of the Peony Amusement Park active today, and always a joy to speak with.
Dear Vicki, I was so very sorry to learn about Carl’s passing. I had just met Carl this winter when he asked me to try and find some land to reestablish Peony Park in time for their 100th Anniversary. I enjoyed our time together and know his passing is a great loss to you and your family. My condolences to your family at this time. With sympathy, Gary
Sincerest condolences on behalf of those of us at Wahoo State Bank who worked with Carl during the years he worked to revive Peony Park in a new location. His creative vision, passion and energy was so impressive and commendable! We had many conversations about his vision to recreate a family place so many fondly remember and he gave each of us his signature wooden Peony Park coin! May God comfort and bless you in the days and weeks ahead.
There was a man in Omaha looking to rebuild a former amusement park called, Peony Park, and his name was Carl Jennings. We eventually met and shared our stories and souvenirs of Peony Park. He authored book entitled, Omaha’s Peony Park: An American Legend (Images of America.)
As I write this, underneath an architectural rendering of the his new Peony Park, my thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and friends. Carl autographed it with the caption, “Thanks for all your Spirit, Keep up the Good Work!” Let it be known, your spirit will always live on!
