Carol Ann Fender-Givans
August 1, 1950 – May 5, 2025
Carol Ann Fender-Givans entered life on August 1, 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa to Phillip and Betty Fender. She entered peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 5, 2025 in Omaha, NE.
Carol grew up in Commerce City, CO, lived in CA and WA as a young adult, and lived most of her adult life in Nebraska, from Ogallala to Omaha. She was a longtime homeowner and resident in South Omaha.
We celebrate her life remembering her and her journeys. Her parents raised Carol along with her three brothers in Iowa and Colorado. Growing up in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, Carol, a self described “hippie” and “free spirit” met the one true Holy Spirit in the early 80’s and from there she walked with and followed God throughout her days. Carol met her veteran husband, Vernon, and married in 1989. She was strong and resilient, a fighter and survivor that helped a lot of people like her husband when nobody else would. She would share testimony after testimony giving all victorious glory to God. Carol would help out anyone that she could, even give the shirt off her back if she had to. She always found love, peace, joy and refuge in her faith and relationship with God. Her love and care for others was also reflected when she shared her love for Jesus with everyone she met.
Carol acquired an associate degree in Business and worked multiple jobs in sales/customer service, owned and operated a parts delivery company and was a caregiver for her veteran husband. She was a member of Lifegate Church Omaha/Papillion for many years and loved participating in women’s Bible study groups. She really loved football, especially her beloved Denver Broncos, she loved summertime and being outside by any lake. She loved music, anything from Christian to rock n roll and had love and compassion for rescue animals and the wild ones in her yard. Carol was very social and was always ready to have a good time. Most importantly she loved God, her family and those she called friends. Rest in peace now Carol, your mission is complete. You’ll be loved and missed. We will see you again one day.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Chantell Fender; son-in-law, Randy Bendorf; granddaughter, Alexis Meyer; great-grandson, Charlie Guido; brother-in-law, Kenny Givans; nieces, and close friends who loved her.
Her husband, Vernon Givans; son, Jason Schulz and three brothers precede her in death.
Visitation 4pm until the time of Service 6:00pm Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Heafey Hoffmann Dworak and Cutler Mortuaries, West Center Chapel. Interment private.

My dearest friend Carol, you were such a great friend, you will be missed. Now you can spread your Eagle Wings.Rest IN Peace
I will forever cherish the memories of Aunt Carol’s warmth, generosity, and unshakable faith. She had a heart that made room for everyone and a spirit that lit up every room she entered. Her strength through trials and her love for others left a lasting mark on all who knew her. Though she is now in the arms of Jesus, she will always remain in our hearts. May her memory be a blessing and her legacy live on through each of us.
With deepest sympathy and love,
Tanya Henson
