Carol Branand
October 30, 1938 – September 14, 2023
Carol Branand, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in Omaha, Nebraska, on September 14, 2023. Carol was born in Detroit, MI, on October 30, 1938. She touched many lives with her grace, wisdom, and warmth.
Carol dedicated her life to nurturing both her family and students. As a devoted math teacher, she inspired countless students at both Walton and Lassiter High School, where she proudly served as the Department Chair. Her passion for education was evident in the impact she left on each student who had the privilege to learn from her.
Outside the classroom, Carol had a zest for life that she expressed through her love for travel and playing Bridge. Whether it was exploring a new country or challenging her mind at the table; she lived each moment to its fullest.
Carol’s family was the center of her universe, and she was the heart of theirs. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly through the lives of those she has left behind.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Robert; her children, Jean (Andy), Cathy (Jim), and Bobby (Susan); her cherished grandchildren, Laura (Austin), Paige (Jonathan), AJ (Liz), Hannah (Phillip), Luke (engaged to Nat), Natalie and Beau; and her adored great-grandchildren, Lottie, Carson, Harlow, and Henry; and much loved sisters, Norma and Janet (Dave).
Family, friends, and others whose lives that Carol touched are invited to remember and celebrate her life at the Arboretum, 8141 Farnam Drive, Omaha, NE, on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. The light and love that she radiated will forever be missed, but her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched.
