Carol M. Otten

Carol M. Otten

June 26, 1937 – May 9, 2023

Preceded in death by husband, Robert R. Otten.  Survived by children: Richard Otten (Lisa), Sherry Arledge (Warren), and Cindy Jesse (David); grandchildren: Thomas (Casey), Michael (Taylor), Eric, Bret, Emma, Sammy, and Mary; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Tatum.

Carol was born in Lincoln, NE, and was an only child to Ed and Alice Matcha.  She went on to the University of Nebraska where she was a cheerleader and most importantly met the love of her life, her husband Bob. They were married in 1959 until his death in 2008. Her greatest joy was her family, three children, seven grandchildren and two (and soon to be three) great-grandchildren.

Carol never met a stranger and had many friends in Nebraska and around the country.  She was active with them in many activities, including bridge, golf and especially helping others. She was a life long Husker fan and her favorite color was red!

The Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 27th from 9am to 11am at the West Center Chapel with a Memorial Service at 11am. Private Interment.

Memorials are suggested to the Food Bank of the Heartland.

Our deepest condolences to the family of Carol Otten. We will miss her here at Bethany, we know your hearts are aching. She is in the arms of the Lord now, though, forever at peace. May God give you strength and comfort as you grieve Carol. Bethany Lutheran Church

I cleaned Carol’s Apartment 2 times a month. She was like a Grandmother to me. As well as a Friend….when I had heard of her death, I can truly say it broke my heart. She WILL be missed. Anyone that knew her… knew that she was Special.
