Carol Sue Quiroz, preceded in death by parents Arlo & Margaret Andersen, born on July 11th, 1960, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She had two sisters: Ruth Behrens (Warren) and Lisa Wigdor (Paul), as well as two brothers: Jim Andersen (Patrice) and the late Keith Andersen.
She had two children: Nicole and Jordan, as well as three grandchildren: Lilly, Ella and Giuliana Caniglia. As an avid animal lover, she also had over 20 fur babies during her lifetime, including dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs and even a lizard or two.
She attended Dana College in Blair, Nebraska where she was a very active member of the community, becoming a focal member of the cheerleading team. She would eventually go on to work at Clarkson Hospital, following in the footsteps of her father. Working on the financial side she would eventually move to Alegent Health, working there for over 20 years. Following her tenure there, she worked for Children’s Hospital and Medical Center as the Manager of Business Operations for the remainder of her life.
She was also a fitness fanatic, constantly trying to find new ways to work out. She became very well known in the Omaha fitness community, teaching and inventing many classes including aerobics and Pilates at Gold’s Gym and New Lady Fitness. Later in life, she also became an avid runner, participating in multiple half marathons. Another of her passions was anything water or beach related, finding her best solitude in the warmth of the sun. A yearly trip to Okoboji, Iowa for over 15 years was her favorite getaway from the troubles of the world.
She was also a very active member of Lutheran Church of the Master, growing up in the community for her entire lifetime. She leaves behind a large family, blood and others, who will forever remember her as a shining ray of light that could bring joy and love to anyone who was lucky enough to meet her.

May God Bless Carol and her family, I went to High School with Carol and she always sat in front of me in home room. I always enjoyed her as a friend and will miss her tremendously. I will always think of her and her long blonde hair, prayers to her children and family.
So sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Rest in peace Carol. We shared a few things, have the same grandchildren, the same name and love of the water. Gigi would tell me after she had spent some time with her grandmother that she got to see my friend. So my friend; you will be missed. I’ll see you on the other side.
Dear all Carol’s family and friends,
We shared a name, now after reading, I wish we had shared more. What a full, rich life– albeit far too brief.
My sincere wishes for wonderful memories.
