Catherine M. Bock, age 87, of Missouri Valley, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Longview Care Center in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Catherine was born on May 28, 1929 in Pisgah, Iowa to Roy and Gertrude (Rehberg) Edmonds. She married Albert M. Bock on June 6, 1947 in Mondamin, Iowa. Catherine was a member of the St. Patricks Catholic Church, Hospital Auxilary, Square Dance Club, Quilt Glid, and Quilt for Comfort. Catherine work at the Missouri Valley Community Hospital for 26 years. She also worked in St. Patricks Church Office for 18 years. Catherine loved to bake and always made sure she had homemade bread, dessert, noodles, and jellies when the kids/grandkids came to visit. Catherine is preceded in death by her parents, son Larry Bock, brother Gerald Edmonds, sister Lucille Sandquist. Survivors include her husband Albert Bock of Missouri Valley, Iowa, son Patrick Bock and wife Cathy of Middleburg, Florida, grandson James Bock and wife Susan and children; Gabriel of Atsugi, Japan, Tricia Bock Johnson and husband Bill of Orange Park Florida and children; Faith- Anne Johnson of Orange Park Florida, Tyler Johnson of St. Augustine Florida, daughter Barbara (Schmitz) Luft and husband Dave of Council Bluffs, Iowa, children; Billy Luft all of Council Bluffs, Iowa, grandson Joe Schmitz Los Angeles, California, granddaughter Christine Schmitz of Austin, Texas, granddaughter; Catie Schmitz of Atlantic, Iowa, daughter-in-law Mary Bock, children; Vickie Rogers and husband Steve of Clarksville Arkansas, granddaughter Christine Rogers, Amber Woods and husband Ryan, great grandchild River Woods all of Clarksville Arkansas. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Immediately following the committal service, the family would like to invite you to a time of lunch and fellowship at St. Patricks Church.
