Catherine Michelle Fellows

Catherine Michelle Fellows

August 8, 1950 – October 8, 2023

Catherine Michelle Fellows was born to Alvin H. Rath and Claramae Byers Rath on August 8, 1950.  She attended a rural school near her farm through sixth grade, after which she started attending school in Logan, Iowa.  She graduated from Logan High School in 1968, and Commercial Extension Business School of Omaha in 1969.  Upon graduation, Cathy worked at Mutual of Omaha from 1969 to the birth of her first son, in 1978.

In September of 1973, Cathy met her future husband, Randy, at a LaSalle Club dance. The LaSalle Club is a social club for single Catholics.  Unbeknownst to them both, they did not discover until later in the evening that they both worked at Mutual of Omaha.  She and Randy were married on October 9, 1976, at St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church in Omaha, by Father Blaise Cupich.

Their marriage was blessed with two wonderful sons, Adam and Ryan.  She was a devoted mother and wife who dedicated her life to providing a happy home for her husband and sons.  Cathy was also a strong believer in the power of prayer and prayed the Rosary regularly.  She was a very gentle soul, had a smile for everyone she met, and was always ready to be of assistance in any situation.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Claramae; and her sister, Helen.  She is survived by her loving husband, Randy; sons, Adam and Ryan, both of Omaha; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Joyce of Sumner, Iowa; many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Via Christe Assisted Living, the CHI Immanuel Heritage Center, and the CHI Immanuel Heritage Treatment Center; all of whom provided kind and gentle care to Cathy, for which the family will always be grateful.

    Dear Randy, Adam, and Ryan,
I am saddened to hear about Cathy’s death, but we are comforted in knowing that she is with her Lord in her life eternal. I remember her and all of you very well from our days at Hartman…and of course, in your relationship to Helen, Greg, April and Jeff. I’m sorry that I won’t be able to attend visitation or the service, but I’ll be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. May God give you his comfort.

    Dear Fellows Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Cathy’s passing. She was so wonderful to work with, as was your entire family. It was always a pleasure to work with the boys. I knew from their actions that they had a strong, caring family. May all your lovely memories offer comfort.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers,
    Linda Wohlers
