CDR USN (Ret.) Milton J. Sherbring

SHERBRING, Milton J., CDR USN (Ret.) Aug 21, 1920 – Apr 5, 2014 Age 93, of Omaha. Formerly of Ogden, Iowa, Milton graduated from Iowa State University and was employed by the Northern Natural Gas Company. Later, he transferred to Omaha and retired from Enron Corporation in 1986 after 35 years with the company. Commander Sherbring was a Navy carrier pilot during WWII and continued his reserve status until retirement. He became the commanding officer of Reserve Jet Squadron 761. Commander Sherbring was awarded numerous medals and citations, including: Order of Glory, third class; Air Medal; Navy Commendation Medal; Presidential Unit Citation; American Campaign Medal; European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal; Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal; Naval Reserve Medal; National Defense Service Medal; and World War II Victory Medal. He is survived by daughters, Marilyn J. Sherbring and Michelle L. Gooliak; son, Mark W. Sherbring; grandsons, Jonathon and Willie Crook. MEMORIAL MASS Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 10am at St. Peter Catholic Church with military honors by U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Interment, St. John Cemetery in Ogden, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church.
