Charlotte Dickey Church

Charlotte Dickey Church

April 27, 1930 – November 16, 2018

Charlotte, age 88, expired peacefully the morning of November 16th at Heritage Pointe Memory facility.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Church (April 2001), and is survived by her daughter, Kay Church of Omaha and cousin, Paul Trocha of California.  Together Kenneth and Charlotte ran Kenneth W. Church Masonry for many years.

Charlotte Church was born in Omaha, Nebraska on April 27, 1930 as Charlotte Dickey.  She attended Omaha Tech High School and was Valedictorian of her senior class.  Charlotte was very artistic growing up and gave thought to attending art school, but she registered for nurses training.  Instead of doing that though, she was married to Kenneth Church on March 16, 1949.  They had one daughter, Kay Church.  Charlotte was very active in Girl Scouts, both as a child and later as an adult.  She was also very involved with the Parent Teacher’s Association at her daughter’s elementary school.  Charlotte enjoyed reading, cooking, drinking root beer, and eating anything sweet!  She absolutely loved animals!  She had many pets over the years.  Many people knew her because of her talent for creating very artistic bows from ribbon, lace, and all sorts of things, making them several feet tall and wide.

Her daughter will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 27th from 4pm to 6pm at the West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Rd., followed by CELEBRATION OF LIFE at 6pm.  Interment, Bohemian Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers: memorials to Ducks Unlimited or Nebraska Humane Society.
