Survived by husband, John R. Dorman; children: Erin Christensen (Ben), Matthew (Maria), Mark, Rob, Kyle (Mary Louise); nine grandchildren; siblings: Debra Blair (Brian), Tim Foxhoven (Marie), Linda Bovero (Ron), Brian Foxhoven (Janna), Dale Foxhoven (Nancy), Rhonda Heine (Dean); other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 14th from 3pm to 4pm followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 4pm, all at St Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 11802 Pacific Street.  MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Monday, November 15th at 10:30am at St Robert Bellarmine with Visitation starting at 9:30am.  Interment: Resurrection Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Apostolate for Family Consecration.

Cheryl Ann Dorman, age 63, of Omaha, Nebraska died on Tuesday, November 9th in Omaha, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 10:30 am at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Omaha, NE, 11802 Pacific Street.  Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Omaha.  Visitation will be on Sunday, at church, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 4:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue on Monday, at church, one hour prior to services.   You may watch a live stream of the vigil, funeral, and burial here www.heafeyheafey.com.  Funeral Mass will also be live streamed on StRobert’s.com.

Pallbearers will be Cheryl’s sons, Matthew, Mark, Rob, and Kyle Dorman, son-in-law Benjamin Christensen, and brother-in-law Brian Blair.  Honorary pallbearers will be Cheryl’s grandchildren, Ella, Evelyn, Isaac, Riley, Bennett, Spencer, Lily, and Zoey.

Cheryl was born on November 12, 1957, in Yankton, South Dakota, to Art and Dolores Foxhoven.  She grew up on a farm near Crofton, Nebraska with 7 brothers and sisters.  Cheryl graduated nursing school from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1978. She met the love of her life John in 1979 while working at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.  She shared her love of being a nurse teaching nursing students at Western Iowa Tech.  Cheryl was a school nurse in Ponca, Nebraska for several years.   She later worked at Pope Paul VI Institute, Sancta Familia Medical Apostolate and most recently at Heartland Family First in Omaha.   Cheryl was a member of Saint Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Omaha.  She was a dedicated member of the Apostolate for Family Consecration.  She loved her faith, her grandchildren, the peacefulness of the country, and traveling with her family.  Cheryl maintained constant faith and trust in God and Mother Mary no matter the circumstance in life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Dolores Foxhoven; brother, Roger Foxhoven; her baby who died before birth; granddaughter Zelie Dolores Christensen.  Cheryl is survived by her husband, John; five children and their spouses: Erin Christensen (Benjamin) of Gardner, Kansas, Matthew Dorman (Maria) of Omaha, NE, Mark Dorman of Omaha, NE, Rob Dorman of Paola, Kansas, and Kyle Dorman (MaryLouise) of Williams, Minnesota; nine grandchildren: Evelyn Rosann, Isaac Arthur, Bennett Roger, Spencer Alan, Lillian Josephine, Pierce Henry Christensen and Isabella Frances, Riley Arthur, and Zoey Marianne Dorman; six siblings and their spouses: Deb Blair (Brian), Tim Foxhoven (Marie), Linda Bovero (Ron), Brian Foxhoven (Janna), Dale Foxhoven (Nancy), Rhonda Heine (Dean); and many nieces and nephews.

    Dear family. I worked with Cheryl at PPVI Institute and went to a rosary group with her as well. She was a generous woman who took her faith very seriously. I thank God for her life of service to Him. I know you were such a close family and will miss her very much
    May the angels escort her to the throne of God where he will greet her as His good and faithful servant

    Sending you John and your family my heartfelt sympathy with the loss of dear Cheryl. I met you both this year at the summer intensive class and had Encounter class with Cheryl. We connected because I’m from Yankton and knew her Mom and other family members. Please know I will be keeping you and your family in my prayers. Barb

    I am so sorry for your loss. I feel grateful that I was able to see Cheryl recently at the Totus Tuus Conference and receive a sweet, motherly hug from her. I pray that God and Our Lady will strengthen and console you as you mourn her physical absence and hope for your reunion in Heaven.

    Dear John and Family,
    I’m sorry for your loss and will pray for you and your family. It was a pleasure to know Cheryl and your entire family through all the years that you came to Catholic Familyland. I will pray for the repose of Cheryl’s soul, but I am quite confident that she is resting peacefully with the Good Lord.

    John and family, You are all in my thoughts and prayers with Cheryl’s passing. She was a very kind and caring person to everyone, gone from us way too early, and will be dearly missed. May you find comfort knowing she’s in God’s hands as her memories live on in all of you. I watched the live casts of her services and her beautiful smile will always be a part of my memory of her.     I had the pleasure of seeing John and Cheryl in the Fall. It was a wonderful surprise after having not seen them for many years. I was struck by what a wonderful couple they are and how much I missed them and their family. I extend my heartfelt condolences to John and the entire family for your loss.

    Thanks be to God you will see her again and I thank God for another saint in Heaven watching and praying for all of your needs. Love never dies.
