Christina M. Buresh
August 7, 1967 – June 14, 2025
Christina “Christy” Marie Buresh (Kleppin), 57, of Omaha, NE completed her earthly journey and returned home to the Lord on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
Christy was born August 7, 1967, to Marilyn Greiner and Steve Kleppin. She met her best friend and husband, Chris, while they were both attending Creighton University. They were joyfully married at the beautiful St. John’s Church on the Creighton campus in 1991. They embarked on life together full of blessings, not the least of which were their three children.
Christy earned her Doctorate in Pharmacy from Creighton. She was inspired to specialize in Oncology Pharmacy after witnessing both of her grandmothers’ cancer journey during her youth. Her first and only job has been at Nebraska Children’s Hospital after graduating in 1991. In her role, she was the first-ever Pharmacist staffed solely in the oncology clinic where she also mentored pharmacy students and made many dear friends over the years.
Christy loved to preserve the joyful moments of life in beautiful scrapbook photo albums that she created. Additionally, she spent countless hours with friends creating intricate and beautiful cards for all occasions and giving them as memorable gifts to those she loved. Most importantly, Christy was a devoted mother who never missed a parent-teacher conference or event for her children and loved to spend time with her husband and family at home and on vacation.
Christy is survived by Chris, her husband of 34 years; mother, Marilyn Greiner; sister, Kimberly (Robbie, Kaylee, Lindsey) Hughes; sons, Matthew, Ryan (Kellie); daughter, Danielle Crotty (James); father, Steve; sister, Lisa Flintoff (Eric); brother, Steve (Shari); Chris’s immediate family, who she considered as her own, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who were all important in her life.
In lieu of flowers Christy had personally requested memorial gifts made to: Make-A-Wish Nebraska Chapter, St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, Omaha NE, Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Research Foundation.
VISITATION: Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 1:30-3:30PM, followed by VIGIL SERVICE: 3:30PM, all at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 16701 “S” Street, Omaha, 68135.

I had the privilege of learning about Christy while working with her sister Kim. She was so proud of her and shared many awesome memories the two of them shared as kids. Our prayers are with your family during this difficult time.
Chris and the entire family, we’re so bereaved for you and the kids. Keeping you in our loop prayers .
I send my condolences. She was a classmate of mine in pharmacy school. May she rest in peace.
We got to know Christy when our daughter Kim was undergoing treatment at Children’s Hospital. She always was friendly and upbeat, something our family – and all the other families in the oncology dept. – really needed during a very difficult time. Prayers for the Buresh family.
I had the privilege of teaching Christy in Pharmacy at Creighton, and later as her colleague at Children’s where I taught a Drug Info rotation as CU faculty and managed their Pediatric Drug Info Ctr. We later kept in touch with regular lunches. Our family kept her in our daily prayers during these last difficult months.
I considered her a dear friend who will be sorely missed. Our condolences to Chris, the kids, family, friends and the patients who loved her.
My husband and I both had the privilege of working with Christy at Children’s in the Oncology Clinic. She was such a delight. We left awhile ago, but our memories of the Children’s Oncology “family” live on. Christy was so great! She was unflappable, no matter how busy we were she always stayed calm. She was one the smartest people I have ever known.
We are unable to attend the funeral. But, we will take a moment on Sunday to smile and think of Christy. Please know we are praying for your family, she loved you all so much.
We met Christy when our son was going through treatment at Children’s. She was so sweet and such a comfort to so many families. Her gentle and positive nature along with her skillful knowledge were a positive force on our treatment team. No doubt she will be missed!

I worked with Christy for almost 30 years at Children’s pharmacy. She was an awesome pharmacist and more importantly she was an extremely kind person. She will be missed! My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
