Christine D. Julian

Christine D. Julian

August 20, 1965 – November 30, 2022

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Saturday, December 17th, 1-3PM, at West Center Chapel.

Christine Julian, 57, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 30, 2022.

Christine was born on August 20, 1965, in Omaha, NE, to William and Dorothy (Lassek) Julian.  In 1967 the family relocated to Grand Island, NE, where Christine would attend the Grand Island school system and graduate from Grand Island Senior High in 1983.  We fondly remember those days growing up in the Del Monte Avenue neighborhood and playing outdoor games with the Schneiders, Learneds, McCormicks, Williams, and numerous other families.  Christine and her father were featured in the Grand Island paper in her early years, writing and mailing a letter to Santa.

Christine had many jobs over her lifetime, with her favorite time being the time she spent working in the medical field assisting doctors.  Christine was blessed with the birth of her son, Jeffery, on December 17, 1988, and she did an admirable job loving and raising Jeff as a single mother over the 20 years he was with us.  After Jeff’s death in February 2009, Christine continued to seek out ways to honor and remember Jeff’s memory.  Christine had a big heart, and in an effort to fill the void left by Jeff’s death, she was always seeking out ways to help others, especially those less fortunate than herself.  As Christine’s last gesture to help other people, she donated her organs to others so that they may Live On (a great organization that helped the family navigate this difficult time).

Christine especially enjoyed the two trips that she was able to make to Australia to visit her friend Jamie Chohon Wheelahan and her family.  Christine enjoyed spending time with the family and especially her nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by her brothers and sister: Marc (Seann) Julian of Grand Island, Linda (Gary) Schulenberg of Omaha, and Matthew Julian, also of Omaha; nieces and nephews: Ariana, Hannah, Jaclyn, Cassandra (PJ, Harper, and Whittaker),  Cory (Jessica), Sydney (Cullen), and Dakota; Jeff’s grandmother Diane Ordway; close friend Katie; uncles, aunts, and numerous cousins.

Christine was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jeffery; her parents; grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Sending thoughts of healing and comfort to Christine’s family. I worked with Christine at Sports Medicine Center back in the 90s. She was a dedicated member of our team and I enjoyed being her colleague and friend. We shared many laughs and great times in our years together. I will always remember her love for Jeff and her extended family. She was a wonderful person and I’ll carry her memory in my heart always. God bless.

To be honest it has been years since I was in touch with Christine. She and I were close in our late high school years as our families were pretty close. The Julians actually invited our family to go snow skiing for the first time when I was somewhere around the 8th grade. Christine and I snow skied together for a few days – her often laughing as I rolled down the mountain. I will miss her wonderful smile and great spirit. RIP sweetheart! God Bless Ya.

I was so sad to hear of Chrissy’s passing. I will always remember the wonderful years our families shared as neighbors on Del Monte. Chrissy was such a lovely child who grew into an amazing woman. May she rest in peace. Jackie Learned Powell

My deepest sympathy to your family. I worked with Christine for many years in Orthopedics beginning at UNMC. I was so sorry to hear about her death. Thinking of you at this difficult time.
