Claud William Crom

October 9, 1956 – March 3, 2024

Claud William Crom was born to Katherine Rita (Zaloudek) and Donald Howard Crom on October 9, 1956, at St. Catherine’s Hospital, Omaha, NE. He died unexpectedly at home Sunday, March 3, 2024.

Claud received his elementary education at Holy Family Catholic School, Council Bluffs, Ia., and St. Patrick’s Catholic School, Omaha, and graduated from Paul VI High School, Omaha. He earned certification at Electronic Computer Programming Institute, Omaha, and studied at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Metro Tech, also in Omaha.

After eight years as a Pinkerton Guard in the Omaha area, he began a 33-year career in printing at Lancer Label, Omaha, working as a binder, platemaker and proofreader.

Claud was an avid reader and was known for his generosity.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Bud Minshall and Steven Laire, Sr.  He is survived by sister and brother-in-law, Rosalie and Joseph Hanson, Omaha; sisters, Rita Laire, Excelsior Springs, Missouri., and Cecelia Minshall; multiple nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service and Entombment: Saturday, April 13, 2024, 1:00 p.m., Calvary Mausoleum.

Memorials will be directed by the family or may be made to Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo.

    I am sorry for your loss. Claud had a heart of gold that will be sadly missed. He is now with his parents and God.

    Miss you Uncle Claud. Thank you for all you have done throughout the years, thank you for your continuous giving, your respect, and thank you for being yourself. We all miss you.
