It’s with a heavy heart that I write this. Jae lived across the hall from me at Hillcrest and we became great friends that year and it continued for the next few years. He was a special guy and some of my best memories at Iowa include him. Our lives took different paths and always wish we reconnected. Over the past 24 hours I’ve been able to share all those moments with those I keep in touch with. He may be gone but his memories will last forever. I pray for his family, friends, and all those touched by his kind heart. God bless.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Jae. I worked with him at Hy-Vee when we were in high school. He was one the sweetest guys I have ever met. Prayers to your family!

My deepest sympathies to the Toddy family. Jae was a great friend and, though we hadn’t been in contact for many years, I will always remember him as one of my closest growing up. May he find everlasting peace.

Jae was the brother I never had. He was the best man in my wedding and the best friend I ever had. His personality was one in a million and I am very blessed to have known him and privileged to have been a part of his life. Every memory I have of Jae involves someone laughing and smiling. I lost a part of me when I heard the news but Jae will never be forgotten. He was an amazing guy and an amazing friend. God bless Chip, Gina and family your in our thoughts and payers.

    Dearest Gina,
My deepest condolences to you and your family at the loss of your son. I will never forget your kindness towards me during the difficult time I experienced while working with you in the Dunes. Had we met during another time I know we would have been great friends. I have thought of you often since our time together. While we don’t understand losing our children, as it goes against the natural order of life, I do believe God has a plan and a purpose for each of our lives. My prayer is that you will feel comforted by His love, humbled by His grace and feel His loving arms around you as He weeps with you during this time of grief. I’ve listed my Email if you’d like to reach out one day.

Jae was one of the first friends I made at Jesuit high school during our freshman year. Although we lost touch soon after he moved/transferred schools, I will never forget the laughter and good times we shared as precocious young teenagers in a new environment. I did not realize Jae had passed until an old mutual friend mentioned to me earlier this year. My heart goes out to his family and my condolences for your loss. I only wish Jae knew how much he impacted my life & many others.
