Clete was born in Templeton, Iowa. As the middle of three boys, he grew up on a farm where he learned the value of hard work. After turning 18, Clete enlisted in the Army. Upon his return home, he studied mathematics at Creighton University. Clete and Wilma married in 1959 and made their home in Omaha, where they began a family that grew to include six children and seventeen grandchildren.
He worked in the insurance industry for more than 40 years, most of them with Central States. He enjoyed horse racing, cards, gardening, walking, and road trips.
Clete was a man of faith and family, and we will all miss him dearly.
