CMSGT Kenneth J. Foley, USAF (Retired)
July 1, 1928 – January 9, 2025
It is with a heavy heart, we announce the sudden passing of Kenneth J Foley, devoted husband and loving father and grandfather.
Ken was born July 1, 1928, in a small farmhouse in Springfield, South Dakota. After graduating from High School and Southern State College, he decided to enlist in the Air Force. He became a meteorologist, briefing many pilots over the 26 years he served, retiring as a Chief Master Sargent.
He met the love of his life, Audrey, while they were in high school in Springfield. They were married on February 1, 1955. They had three children, Karen, Doug and Roger. His military service took the family to several bases in the United States, and to overseas stations in Iceland, Okinawa and Guam.
His last assignment with Global Weather was at Offutt Air Force Base, so when he retired from the Air Force, he and Audrey made the community of Papillion, NE their home. He worked another 20 plus years in computer programming and then driving cars for the Auto Auction, as he was a huge lover of cars. Besides loving all things cars and racing, he had many hobbies including traveling, (either by car or on a cruise ship), square dancing, bowling (he was one pin short of a perfect game), listening to country and polka music, golf, playing pool, reading and working on puzzles. We are so blessed and grateful that he lived a very full and long life of 96 years.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Audrey; children Karen Brouillette, (Doug) Doug Foley (Mitch), and Roger Foley (Della); grandchildren, Eric Brouillette, Marc (Rachel) Brouillette, Sara (Bryan) Mendes, Taylor (Juli) Foley and Austin Foley. He is also survived by five Great Grandchildren whom he adored, Hannah, Maddie, Kira, Michael and Violet. Also surviving him are brothers Donald and Ronald Foley, along with several in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, James and Julietta Foley, and brothers Robert and Maurice Foley.
