In Loving Memory of Cole Costello
July 12, 1995 ~ September 5, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cole Patrick Costello, who left us far too soon at the age of 29 on September 5th, 2024. Cole was a cherished son, brother, grandson, uncle, partner, and friend.
Cole had a beautiful, loving soul that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He truly blessed our lives with his gift of love and laughter. Despite his personal struggles bravely battling addiction, he recently celebrated ten months of sobriety. We are eternally grateful for the recent months, witnessing his joy and love for a sober mind, body and soul. Whether you knew him for a moment or a lifetime, his impact was unforgettable.
He leaves behind a community of family and friends who loved him deeply and will forever remember his beautiful heart. We will hang on tightly to these memories as we navigate life without him in it. We are grateful to anyone who had a loving part in Cole’s journey, especially Jacobs Ladder Recovery. May he now rest in peace, free from the burdens he carried. He will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
We invite all who loved Cole to celebrate his life and hold on to the treasured memories he left behind. In lieu of flowers, please kindly consider donating to two organizations that meant so much to Cole:
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, 4:30pm-7:30pm at The Barn at the Ackerhurst Dairy Farm, 15220 Military Rd.
Bennington, NE 68007

We send prayers to all the Costello family and friends; we can see that Cole was very much loved and will be missed by all. Love to all….
I knew Cole only briefly at Jacob’s Ladder in West Virginia. I was struck by his beautiful blue eyes. Even with all his menacing tattoos there was a sweetness and gentleness about him that made him precious to me. This is a terrible loss. I am so sorry for his family and all who loved him.
I recently came across Cole’s name and number in my phone, and not recognizing it, I decided to look him up. Unfortunately, I found his obituary and was deeply saddened to learn of his passing. As soon as I saw his picture, I immediately remembered him. I had the pleasure of meeting Cole one morning at Memorial Park while I was there with my dogs. He was running up and down a steep sidewalk, holding a medicine ball, and I cheered him on, being passionate about fitness myself. Afterward, he came over to thank me for the encouragement, and we ended up talking for a while about fitness, fighting, and life. We exchanged numbers, and I regret not reaching out afterward because he had such a bright, purposeful spirit. That brief encounter left a lasting impression on me, and I wanted to share this for anyone who knew him. My heartfelt condolences to all of his family and friends—sending love, thoughts, and prayers.
