Collin Joseph Priebe

Collin Joseph Priebe

July 12, 2020 – August 14, 2025

Collin Joseph Priebe was born on July 12, 2020 at Methodist Woman’s Hospital. He had medical complexities that required him to stay in the NICU and eventually transfer to Nebraska Children’s Hospital in Omaha. Collin came home from Children’s Hospital in December 2020 with a trach and ventilator.

While home, Collin loved to spend time with family, friends, and his nurses. Collin especially loved to play with his adoring two younger brothers.  He went to two years of preschool in the Gretna school district and gained many friends.  Collin loved going to the Henry Doorly Zoo, the Children’s Museum, the Air and Space Museum, and the Wildlife Safari.

Collin passed away on August 14, 2025 at Children’s Hospital after a serious illness.  He was loved by all who knew and met him.  We are so grateful for his family, friends, nurses, doctors, medical staff, therapists, teachers, and everyone else who loved Collin and let Collin love them. Collin inspired kindness in others and he was a constant reminder to live in the moment and move through life at a gentle pace.

Collin is survived by his parents. Brett and Amy Priebe’ brothers. Roman and Trevor; and grandparents: Jeff and Terri Jewell and Jerry and Dana Priebe, all of Omaha, NE.  Collin is preceded in death by his uncle, Jayson Jewell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Nebraska Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in honor of Collin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Please know that your family is in our prayers as you navigate through the grief and sadness of losing a child as special as Collin. You have shown great strength throughout his young life, and we trust this strength will carry you forward during this difficult time.

Oh Amy, I am so sorry to hear about your beautiful son. Many prayers for him and for peace as you walk this path. I will ask Cady to wrap her arms around him as his soul enters Heaven.

I have many fond memories of Collin and your sweet family and was very lucky to know him, even if for a short time. He was a brave fighter who had a wonderful glimmer in his eye when playing! I am so deeply sorry to hear of his passing. You will be in my prayers and thoughts for some time to come.

We are heartbroken knowing of Collin’s passing. I can’t imagine your loss and how his brothers will miss him. When his Celebration of Life is held, we hope we can attend.

I am so grateful to have seen and hold Collin’s hand this past Jayson’s Jewell Memorial event. I always loved to see him and his brothers growing through the years. I know he is playing and running with Jayson watching over you all. Prayers hugs and love to you all!! Phillips Family
