Connie L. Balzerick
December 21, 1934 – March 2, 2019
Preceded in death by grandparents, Henry and Lucinda Schaefer; parents, Lyle and Twila Scoby; and beloved husband, Robert. Survived by daughter, Robbie Rotschafer (Randy) of Omaha: sister, Jeannine Pfeifer of Olympia, WA; brother, Richard Scoby of Santa Barbara, CA; grandchildren: Nic Rotschafer (Kara), Amee Yost (Micah), Hannah Rotschafer, and Stephen Rotschafer; eight nieces; one nephew; two great-grandchildren.
When Connie was 6 months old her mother died, and then her father was killed in WWII. Connie and her sister were raised by loving grandparents in Hays, KS. Her grandparents had many “family sayings” that Connie passed on to her daughter and grandchildren, for instance: “Marriage is like a team of horses. If you don’t pull together in the same direction, you won’t get anywhere.” Connie and Bob were devoted to each other. For 62 years, they pulled that wagon of life together. Their personalities and strengths were very different. Bob was creative and humorous. Connie took care of all the details. Bob’s career provided for their home, but Connie made sure the electric company was paid and the alarm clock was set. They were a team. Connie died ten days after Bob. Sad, yes; but for the family who loved them, the friends who knew them and the wonderful caregivers of Brighton Gardens, no one was really surprised.
PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICES. For memorials, the family suggests a donation to Endless Journey Hospice Care, Inc. 10909 Mill Valley Rd, Ste. 205, Omaha, NE 68154.

Oh, Robbie. I am so sorry to hear of the death of both your parents within 10 days of each other. I remember them both fondly. May God grant you peace during your time of grief.
Robbie we are so sorry about Connie’s death, but she is with Bob now in a better place whereby they can pull that wagon of love together again. You and Randy take care.
