To Connie’s family I send my sympathies in the loss of your loved one. At the same time, I hope it comforts you to know that Connie was so well-loved and appreciated by her many friends. She was one of the most spirited, giving, loving, and accepting people I have ever been blessed to know. She had so many friends that the whole city will seem empty without Connie on the dance floor.

I was so lucky to get to know Connie on the many dance floors where I’d come across her in Omaha (Jazz on the Green, Jitterbugs Night Out, Anthony’s etc.) The joy that she took from life, and dancing, was so apparent and infectious. I am honored to call her a friend, and I know she will be missed very much by so many. May your loving memories of her warm your hearts at this sad time. My condolences.

I was blessed to meet Connie on Facebook because I loved her political posts. I friended her and we immediately planned lunch at Gorats. I just had to get to know her better. Despite living in Iowa about 90 minutes from Connie, we managed to have lots of fun…at Gorats, many performances at The Jewell, Summer concerts at Rockbrook, church together at One Way Ministries, parties on Connie’s patio, celebrating Connie’s birthday last summer, so many phone calls to discuss the latest in politics and Christmas at Lauritzen Gardens. Several times Connie set up her guest cot for me when our fun ran late.

She taught me that glasses are jewelry for the face and hide signs of aging. I think she loved life more than anyone I know. When I was around her the happiness, humor, and love just flowed over me. I loved Connie and there’s an empty spot in my heart. Who will I find to have fun with? I know God has me and will be with me in my grief.

Connie was always upbeat and full of fun! She was our instructor at Westroads Club and later organized dinners for us after the group dissolved. I saw her last summer at the Rockbrook concert and we embraced as we had not seen each other for years. She loved to dance
and I loved watching her. I will remember her with fondness and love.

Joy and family, I send my condolences. I was sorry not to be able to attend the service in person due to my health but enjoyed watching the live stream and getting to hear the music Connie had picked, and hearing for those who knew her and loved her as well. The love Connie love shared with me and all she encountered will continue to sparkle on long after she is gone.
