Dale H. Seeba

Dale H. Seeba

Jan 26, 1951 – May 2, 2017

“Well done my good and faithful servant.” Beloved son, husband, father and grandfather. Lover of Husker football, Diet Mountain Dew, Billy Ocean, apple crisp, his career, and his devoted family. Words cannot express the depth of our sorrow at your passing’ but we rejoice that you are in your new heavenly home and struggle no more. Dale was born in Nebraska City and grew up on the family farm near Cook, NE. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda, attended pharmacy school at UNMC, and eventually settled in Omaha. Dale and Linda had four daughters, which meant he dragged his enormous video camera to more recitals than sporting events.  Dale enjoyed a nearly 40 year career as a Registered (Rockstar) Pharmacist, first with Keystone Medicine Chest, and later with HyVee.

Despite a malignant brain tumor diagnosis in 1999, he went on to walk all four daughters down the aisle at their weddings and welcomed eight adoring grandbabies into his arms and his heart. In recent years, the complications from his tumor and treatments necessitated an early retirement, which he spent teaching his grandkids silly impressions and filling them with sweets while their parents weren’t looking. We will forever be in awe of the grace, grit, and bravery he showed in his fight every day for eighteen years. He never complained about his diagnosis or let it define him, but instead he lived each day to the fullest. Dale passed away peacefully at the amazing Josie Harper Hospice House, and in his final days was surrounded by the light, love, and laughter of his adoring family.

Dale was preceded in death by his father, Harold Seeba. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda; daughters: Julie Reece (Jeremy), Sarah Bonow (Scott), Kerri Moustakes (Mike), and Becky Evans (Joe); grandchildren: Jackson, Elliot, Eleni, Tyler, Emilia, Lucy, Rosie, and Theo; mother, Mardell Seeba; brother, sister, and many extended relatives.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 7th from 3pm to 5pm at the Bel Air Chapel, 12100 W. Center Rd. SERVICES Monday, May 8th at 11am at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 7706 S. 96th St., LaVista, with luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hope Lodge in Iowa City, IA or Josie Harper Hospice House.

Please accept my sincerest sympathy at the death of your husband, father, and grandfather. I remember sitting with Dale in science classes at dear old Cook High School. Dale had an easy smile and a great sense of humor. I pray that God will comfort and strengthen you in the days ahead. Your many memories will give you unending comfort!
